Conferences...

I spent most of this past weekend getting ready for conferences.  That really means I spent a lot of time on pinterest, facebook and basically just searching interesting topics online.  I click on one picture on pinterest and I just keep going.  I feel like the book "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"  except my version (and I'm including a lot of you in this) is called "If You Give a Teacher a Computer..."
I did find a new game for my classroom though!  I love playing games, especially in the morning before the school day "actually" begins.  I think it looks like a lot of fun and will be a classroom hit in no time.  The game is Mobi Numerical Tile Game.

Okay, let's get back to the actual topic of this post!  At least you all know I am telling the truth about getting distracted!

When I prepare for conferences I usually write up a page about each student.  On the sheet, I include all the scores I have to date.  We administer AIMSWeb and I have the results from the first round.  I list their Spelling Test scores, math tests and reading information.  I also include the parent's goals from our before school meeting.  I like to have all of that information handy so that if I need to refer to it I can. One thing I tried last year, which worked out well, was a Student Progress Report that I had each student fill out and take home prior to conference day.  I'm not sure if I will do the same thing this year but you can see what it looked like.

I still have time to shop online, I mean think about it!!  I did find some great options available at Teachers Pay Teachers that are free and may work for me this year.

Options:

I'll keep you posted as to what I decide to create for my conferences this year!
Thanks!
Ann
